Smiles for miles

Cass is a smiling fool these days. He is positively delighted to be awake in the morning and rewards Mom and Dad with big, huge, wide-mouthed grins. I haven't been able to catch this on film yet because, quite frankly, I'm way too enamored with them to grab and camera and save the moment for posterity. But, here is a little half-smile I caught of him the other day:

Cass has recently discovered two activities that he just loves - his aquatic-themed activity mat (thank you Grandma and Grandpa Esposti!):

And sucking his fingers :)

"Look Ma, I found my hands!"

And just because I adore pics of Cass and his Daddy, here is one from last night...

Such a precious little man while he's sleeping :)

Jabberwocky!

Cass turns eight weeks old tomorrow and he is "talking" up a storm! This past week he's been chatting us up with lots and lots of "goos," "gaas," "oohs," and "aahs." We are just tickled by this :)

He's getting bigger and bigger and becoming more of a "real" baby every day. He recognizes Mommy and Daddy's voices and turns to us when we talk to him. His favorite things include bathtime, being naked/getting changed, listening to Dad play the guitar and sing to him and being read to (particularly Dr. Seuss's "Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You?").

The DC area has been smacked with tons of snowstorms this winter; as I type we are in the middle of a storm that is predicted to bring two feet to Arlington! And so I leave you with this photo that Cam took of our street...
